Pete and I enjoyed our 2017 visit to Norfolk Island so much we did it again in 2018, spending the week covering Christmas on this speck in the South Pacific. This time we weren’t on an organised tour. We had a hire car, which allowed us to do our own thing.

The secret life of trees

We visit the amazing grove of Moreton Bay figs on the island – and a few other places.

Something interesting around every corner

With a hire car we were able to visit spots that hadn’t been on our itinerary last year.

The Cemetery – stories of the past

We spend some time in the oldest parts of the cemetery, reading the fascinating headstones.

Norfolk’s Wildlife

We revisit terns, gannets – and some introduced species.
